International Day is on the 6th day of May every year. It is said that on this day, all nations celebrate and honor the people who have helped to make the world a better place. It is also widely considered as World AIDS Day, World Mother’s Day, and World Peace Day. When this day falls on a Sunday, it usually falls on the calendar and is therefore officially recognized the world over. International Day is said to have been established by The United Nations Security Council in order to bring about change through peaceful means.
In many different countries, this day is not celebrated with much fanfare or pomp. This is because the world has become so used to the hustle and bustle of life that there is little time to sit back and appreciate the small blessings that we have received. International Day is the way that we can remind ourselves that we are all part of the larger whole and that we all have a part to play in the making of the world a better place. It is believed that the cactus has seven leaves which signify the seven continents of the world. Through these seven leaves, the believers believe that we have all taken a part in the creation of everything that we have seen and everything that we will see in the future.
