Thanks for checking us out on VisitGaoMali.com.  This is a brand new site launched in September 2006 to promote a true Saharan and Niger River adventure destination - Gao, Mali.

You will find many exciting things to do and experience in Gao.  Gao is called home by both Songha and Tuareg peoples.  It is truly the intersection of the Niger River and the Sahara Desert, which makes it a fascinating place to visit.

And, remember, we're always here to help you answer any questions that you may have.  This site was built and is maintained by the Malian government ministry in charge of tourism - the Office Malien du Tourisme et de l'Hotellerie (OMATHO), so you can get completely unbiased and official information on this site.  Your questions will come directly to the ministry's regional staff located in Gao, who know Gao and the surrounding areas better than anyone else in Mali.
